Master Bedroom

During my downtime at work (overnight weekends) I've been steadily losing grip of reality thanks to Pinterest. I have a list going of prospective projects AND assorted power tools that I'll need to acquire.SIMPLE projects. Nothing elaborate.
Like, straight cuts and simple measurements.

Wrapping Up

So here we are, a couple days shy of Mid-October and the current construction manager has communicated that he should be "signing-off" on everything by the end of the week to go forward with scheduling a closing date.

There are only a few things remaining at the house [appliances to be delivered, hardware on cabinetry, sod in yard] but everything else is in place [carpets, toilets, light fixtures, water heater, A/C unit, trim, sinks/faucets, door handles, etc]. I've been trying to keep the Progress Pics Photo Gallery going as best I could.

Building a House: A Photo Gallery

I realized I needed a post specifically that included a running tally of all the photos, pretty much so I could bring it up and show friends at work. I think I will make this a pinned post so it stays on top.

Our gallery timeline begins with the formal processing of our Earnest Money + Construction Deposit and when it was officially reflected online. Our plot markers turned red on the same day, but LOT 27 beat us by 2 days. Unfortunately, their contract would fall through and ended up coming available as a Quick-Sale and has since resold. So........ by default, that makes us the first Homeowners in Phase D of our neighborhood!!

Here's a screenshot of when everything went live:

Red = Sold  ||  Green = Available  ||  Grey = Unreleased  ||  Blue = Quick-Sale.

Dining Room

As mentioned in my last post, in order to combat some of my latest stressors, I've fixated on a couple different items we will 100% need once we get in the house. We'll go ahead and cover the dining room options I've been investigating :)

I'm probably sinking too much energy into th…

Utility Options

I just wanted to compile a list I could keep ready and at-hand for when the time comes. Just know this list is for me to reference and build off of...

House Meeting No.2

We had our second meeting with the Construction Manager today. We met at the house and did the Pre-Drywall Inspection. Its been right about a month from the last meeting and while its still been a "slow trickle" of progress, most of it is best visualized inside (the HVAC, the electrical running through the house, tubs/showers installed, cable pre-wiring, insulation markers, etc) so, it's not overwhelmingly different looking from the outside. With the exception of the freakin' DRIVEWAY! HELLO!

House Meeting No.1

The meeting with Construction Manager went AWESOME.

I had heard how some places kind of hint that they want everything done by appointment only... but she was a completely open book. She was like "you can come by any time you feel like it. After hours. Weekends. Whenever. You can take pictures of whatever you want. Come take measurements! Check it all out! If you want more than that, by all means, we can totally set an appointment where I can meet up with you if you want a one-on-one!"

She answered all of my questions - like if some mysterious additional insulation somehow appeared overnight in the garage walls before the drywall was hung, she'd be like, "Well ain't that sumpin!" LOL. Some super WEIRD tidbits that made me toss & turn at night [like thinking we had no electrical outlets on the exterior of the house]... we totally do. What I didn't select was the additional electrical boxes... which would be in addition to the multiple that come standard.
