House Meeting No.1

The meeting with Construction Manager went AWESOME.

I had heard how some places kind of hint that they want everything done by appointment only... but she was a completely open book. She was like "you can come by any time you feel like it. After hours. Weekends. Whenever. You can take pictures of whatever you want. Come take measurements! Check it all out! If you want more than that, by all means, we can totally set an appointment where I can meet up with you if you want a one-on-one!"

She answered all of my questions - like if some mysterious additional insulation somehow appeared overnight in the garage walls before the drywall was hung, she'd be like, "Well ain't that sumpin!" LOL. Some super WEIRD tidbits that made me toss & turn at night [like thinking we had no electrical outlets on the exterior of the house]... we totally do. What I didn't select was the additional electrical boxes... which would be in addition to the multiple that come standard.

Passing the Time

There really hadn't been a whole lot to update about over the last 6 weeks or so. I mean, global pandemic, yeah... but - about that - ok, so I'll take a moment to go ahead and elaborate on how things have been.

I work in the medical field and I have no kids.

I feel like these are the 2 topics that effected the most people. Through this entire thing, I have kept going to work. I think in the first week of official Lock Down, I received my "Essential Worker" documents that I was to keep in my vehicle in case I was ever held up or pulled over or accosted for being out. There was a serious decline of volume at work (at first) when everyone was actually staying home - but I still had to go to work. Definitely job security. No "WFH" [working from home] for me! So, no. I was not effected by the Unemployment Disaster. For me, it was honestly "Business as Usual."

Approved!

Finally Friday! I woke up today and after making my coffee and heating up my Egg'Wich, I sat down and opened up my computer. I decided to check my email first and I was greeted with a Congratulation email!

The Mortgage Loan has been approved!

House Hunting: A Timeline (pt2)

It was most likely the very next weekend when the world went into lock-down mode for Covid-19. So, on my weekend, I dedicated huge amounts of time to sitting in front of my computer with an excel spreadsheet up and even Googling references. The Sale Agent was kind enough to actually give us a copy of the Itemize Options the buyer selected for the house we toured (Names and Payment information Redacted, of course) that way I could see exactly what was included and what wasn't. Honestly, I used that thing as a Holy Grail reference. I went as far and as long as I could with the information I had.

House Hunting: A Timeline (pt1)

I know. It's been 8 months since my last entry. There's been a LOT of things that have been going on over here. Most notably, hello.... a global pandemic. Yes, its been a bit chaotic... but we'll cover that later. Instead, let's go ahead and get right into what's really on the docket. Then, I will go back and fill in the holes.

Building. A. House.

Walk the Plank (pilates pt5)

Well, I actually used up all my class credits for Pilates a week & a half early. I'm proud of myself for sticking with it. On Saturday, I made sure to swing by Elements to cancel the massage membership. It  ended up being timed perfectly. My last payment is scheduled for the 15th and my last massage appointment is on the 20th.

Pilates bills me on the 18th, so I officially won't be paying double. I wanted to make a point to say that my services at Elements were always really wonderful. I just didn't get the kind of relief that the Pilates provides me. Even their cancellation process was incredibly painless. I was almost braced for a war, given my experiences with fighting gyms  - now there's a complete nightmare for you.

Keto | Cinnamon & Sugar Donuts

I've been wanting to do some actual baking for a long time (and specifically, homemade donuts) - but getting the motivation to do so is another story. I just kind of pictured my kitchen being left covered in flour and dishes everywhere...  Well, I finally decided to throw caution to the wind and I BAKED!

I couldn't say "I'm not good at baking" because I simply hadn't gotten to do it very much. So I finally decided to give some Keto Donuts a try. And they turned out great!!
