Career Day - Part 1

This is a hard entry to start. Simply because of the sheer length it could get to.

SUMMARY: I am currently waiting to hear back from a job that I have applied to, and already interviewed for.

I know, I know. To my poor blog here, its completely left field. I was a bit preoccupied over the last year with building a house ... and to be honest, the job situation started as a slow build - until it decided to go full throttle and I had to make some serious decisions.

Ipsy: April 2021

Bring on April! I got this bag very very late, which is why the review is so late..

So, I've been obsessively checking my email for other reasons and ever since the email popped up about the "Add Ons" I really went back and forth about one particular item that ever-so-slightly caught my eye. I have only ever used 1 other product by them, and I can't tell if its simply just the internet HYPE that makes me curious, or the fact that it's really good....

Either way, this was my first bag that I went ahead and granted myself an "Add On" in addition to my hand-picked item. It was only 3 bucks, which is honestly why I caved. After like, day 3 of it lingering in my brain, I said "screw it, its $3.00" and just added it. If it was was haunting me that bad - like, seriously.... I needed to just try it and get it over with.

As boujie as I generally am... I have NO PROBLEM snapping my purse closed when it comes to people trying to upsell me shit.

Settling In

We've been in the house for a little over 4 months and we've tackled a lot of our original projects. The most recent was using some of the surplus house brick to make planter boxes around the trees in the front yard.

I'm not sure if I blogged about that particular night - when we snuck out in the middle of the night to set aside a crap-ton of the excess brick after the house was done. Specifically for projects like this, I wanted the brick to match the house.

Ipsy: March 2021

My highly anticipated March Ipsy Bag!!!

My excitement over this bag was obnoxious. When I signed back up, I realized they were doing things a little different than before. This time around, there are different Levels, or tiers, of bags you can sign up for... as well as +Upgrades you can throw in - fairly cheap - some $5.00 some $10.00, etc.

I opted for the traditional, uncomplicated, standard GlamBag. Honestly, I am just super stoked to be back in the "Swag Bag" game.

Back in the game

In anticipation of all the scrutiny that goes into the Home Buying process, I shut everything down as far as extra-curricular subscriptions were concerned. Everything - with the exception of television related (Netflix, Hulu, HBO*go, etc) since we were still in the middle of the Pandemic and stuck …

Its Alive!

We are officially in the "teens" of our countdown. Which, is completely insane. Where did this year go?? I had my internal mantra defaulted to "we have all year for [ xx ]..." and now we don't. I can't even round it up to a full "month" anymore.

I am relieved - the apartment complex requires a 60 Day Notice of intent to extend/vacate, which put us at November 1 for that particular due date. So, I'm glad we have an official Closing Date for the house. It was a bit nerve wracking thinking about turning in a Move Out notice without officially knowing when we'd be able to Move In. It's bittersweet... this apartment has been amazing. It's beautiful & spacious, awesome location, fantastic wrap-around balcony.. but I know as soon as we get the keys to the house, it's going to be nothing but flat-out excitement and a flurry of activity. Honestly, I know we won't look back. I still can't believe we will be in the house before the Holidays.

I'm sitting here waiting for a call back from Ryan (our Mortgage Agent) to go over the finer details of the Loan. While I wait for that, I figured I'd update on the latest happenings with the house.

Finishing Touches

So we snuck by the house today.. Made our regular trip over to the house today. After we received the email of our closing date, but before we got our call-back to answer questions. Our call-back came right as we were pulling away from the house, actually.
